ABOUT ME
I am Yutong Gao, a graduate student majoring in Landscape Architecture Science at School of Design, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. My research interests include landscape ecology and urban biodiversity, specifically, between urbanization and plant diversity. To conduct my research, I studied plant taxonomy and conducted plant field surveys to collect data. I also applied remote sensing image interpretation techniques to investigate the level of urbanization. Drawing on established theories, such as environmental filtering, my goal is to extensively investigate the influence of urbanization on urban biodiversity using quantitative modeling. Moreover, I explored the phylogenetic diversity of plants in addition to studying species level.
During my master’s degree, I was supervised by Pro. Junxiang Li from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, while Prof. Qing Chang from China Agricultural University supervised my undergraduate studies.
Throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies, I have maintained an excellent GPA, secured multiple scholarships from my institution, and actively participated in the program. Further details are available on this website or in my CV.
